TEMPERATURES

I use a gas oven which reads in Farenheit. If you have a fan oven then, I would always
suggest lowering the temperature by 25 degrees, whether its farenheit or centigrade.

MEASURING/WEIGHING

I haven’t given “cup” measurements for most of my recipes because most of them are baking recipes and I think Ounces and Grams are more accurate and the conversions are often not clear.

I also try to round up/down my measurements so that they are easier to remember and measure, even with scales that only measure by fives. So my 2 oz is 50g (instead of 55g), my 4 oz is 100g or 110g (instead of 113g) etc.

When using the recipes always measure the entire recipe in either all ounces or all grams- do not mix the two.

COOKING TERMS

Please note, that most terms that I use are British but I have tried to include a link to my culinary translations page for any that might cause confusion.

Please let me know if I’ve omitted something so that I can make the changes for everybody else. Thanks and happy eating.
