Cookbook Giveaway!

by Anna on October 8, 2010

Like I suspect most of you reading this post, I own a zillion and one cookbooks that are now spilling out over the shelves and forming piles from the floor. My husband will give me that same despairing expression when yet another delicious little treasure arrives but I will find a place for it. I always do. Despite the fact that I have so many I’ve never wanted to give any away. I guess if you were judgmental you might call me a cookbook hoarder- and also perhaps a cake tin hoarder but that’s a story for another day. This book, however, is more than just a cookbook it’s a beautiful love story and one to share. And in any case I accidentally bought two which means one for me and one for a lucky reader. What, you didn’t think I’d give away my only copy did you? Certainly not of this book, it’s a beauty.

If you haven’t had the great pleasure of reading Shauna’s blog Gluten Free Girl and The Chef then I suggest you head directly over there right now. Skip the giveaway and go straight to Shauna whose words will wrap you up in a cozy little cocoon as she tells you stories about love and joy and food and life. There have been half a dozen or so times where she has left me in tears- her openness and honesty draw you in and make you feel like you’ve known her for years. And since I’ve been reading her blog for the past three years, I sort of feel like I do. But not in a creepy way, Shauna, I promise.

What I love about the book is that it’s not just another cookbook- it has stories behind every recipe, stories about falling in love Danny, The Chef and falling in love with food. Shauna has you falling in love with the recipe before you’ve even turned the page. That Shauna, she has a way with words, she does. It’s inspiring, it’s beautiful, it’s gluten-free and it could be yours!

To win the book simply leave a comment below saying why you deserve to win and tweet about it on Twitter using my twitter name @LondonFoodieNy. The winner will be announced on Tuesday October 12th.  Good luck!

I deserve to win because I got to meet Shauna and Danny (and Lu) when they were in the City for their book celebration, but couldn’t afford to buy a copy of the book at Whole Foods after the demo!

I deserve to win because I really want to expand my baking and cooking to more gluten-free dishes. For learning sake, for my health, for others.

I deserve to win because I just recently found out I’m gluten intolerant and I need this book and all it’s GF goodness :)
Also Shauna is the sweetest person I’ve spoken to on Twitter, when I told her I found out about my gluten intolerance she was so supportive and encouraging!

I was recently diagnosed with endometriosis. The medications haven’t worked and am starting to try and fight the pain through my diet. Just started following @glutenfreegirl on twitter and am more hopeful than ever that I can give up gluten, dairy, sugar, caffeine, chocolate, and red meat.

Holy Moly!! I’m so excited! I just checked back and realized I won!! Thanks, Anna! Also, just read your Chicago Marathon post and #1- your “I am dehydrated and passed out and was wheeled across the line” time skunked my “in my deepest dreams I would like to finish NYC 2010 in” time. Congrats!!!
